In this blog post, I cover the Indian Grill Room, a fine dining Indian grill restaurant in Gurugram.
In the mood of authentic Indian grill cuisine but wondering where to go? If you're someone like me who prefers to visit one-of-its-kind properties with something unique to offer, the Indian Grill Room is bound to impress you like never before!
What's so special about the Indian Grill Room is that it celebrates local cuisines through the use of various Indian grilling techniques like the tawa, charcoal grill, pathar, and tandoor.
Opened in 2011, to provide guests with an unparalleled experience, Indian Grill Room is spread over 20,000 sq. ft. with both indoor and outdoor sections, and a cleverly built open kitchen, terrace, and bar. Not only that, it offers an exclusive indoor private dining room with a mini bar to personalize your fine dining experience. This exclusive service is extended for up to 16 guests.
The indoor section boasts of a large open kitchen and a chef's table, with interactive grill stations. The terrace has a large water body, a live performance area, and gazebos.
Indian Grill Room offers 100 covers in all and is open every day from 12 noon to 3 P.M. and 6.30 P.M. to 11 P.M.
The brainchild of restaurateur Kamal Khattar, Indian Grill Room tries best to separate the wheat from the chaff. Kamal, the chief promoter of the place, has more than 25 years of experience in running successful banquets, restaurants, and discotheques.
Indian Grill Room follows a set menu concept, wherein you pay a fixed price for a meal that includes a soup, 14 varieties of Indian grills, followed by curries, lentils, assorted bread, and desserts. This menu changes every 15 days. You also have the option of ordering from the à la carte 'enhancer' menu that includes a select offering of meats and veggies. The restaurant also has an elaborate bar menu.
My recommendations include famous North Indian Kebabs like the Malai Tikka, Fish Amritsari, and Kesari Paneer Tikka. Also try the favorites from other parts of the country like the Karuvepillai Meen, Goan Chicken Cafreal, Mutton Suka from the South and West respectively. If there's room for more, go for the high-end multi-cuisine setup serving exotic Pasta, Enchiladas, Mexican Grilled Chicken, etc.
Indian Grill Room has two bars, offering a large variety of spirits and cocktails with a focus on whiskeys. They aim to stock the most extensive collection of whiskeys someday.
The indoor bar is luxurious and provides intimate seating for 20 people; the outdoor bar is open only on weekends to manage large crowds.
Located on the Golf Course Road, the restaurant's kitchen is run under the watchful eyes of Corporate Chef M. P. Bhandari.
What's important to note is that the buffet is only served inside during lunch and dinner. If you're seated outside, you can just order from à la carte in the evening (you cannot order from the à la carte during lunch).
Unlike other favorite Indian grill restaurants who serve live grills on every table, at the Indian Grill Room, the cooking does not happen on your table which is fantastic, to say the least!
